Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, and belts and operate efficiently
- perform front-end merchandising tasks including newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs, report pricing or signage errors
- maintain understanding of store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies on security, cash handling, and product handling
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning guidelines
- follow guest experience protocols
- perform additional assigned duties in other departments as needed
