Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand use of check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, and belts and operate efficiently
  • perform front-end merchandising tasks including newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs, report pricing or signage errors
  • maintain understanding of store programs and product locations
  • communicate company programs, store specials, and coupons to customers
  • comply with company policies on security, cash handling, and product handling
  • maintain a clean and well-stocked department
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning guidelines
  • follow guest experience protocols
  • perform additional assigned duties in other departments as needed
