Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and bag customer purchases
- understand and efficiently use check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
- merchandise check-stand items like newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper product identification and report pricing or signage errors
- maintain knowledge of store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
- maintain clean and well-stocked department and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- follow food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- perform tasks in other departments based on customer needs
- perform additional responsibilities as assigned
