  • one year of prior retail or related experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • weigh and bag customer purchases
  • understand and efficiently use check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • merchandise check-stand items like newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • ensure proper product identification and report pricing or signage errors
  • maintain knowledge of store programs and product locations
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
  • maintain clean and well-stocked department and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all PPE and safety guidelines
  • follow food safety and cleaning expectations
  • follow guest experience guidelines
  • perform tasks in other departments based on customer needs
  • perform additional responsibilities as assigned
