Job Requirements
- Access to a phone at all times
- able to read and understand operating instructions for store equipment
- able to lift 25 pounds at least once during shift
- good oral communication skills
- ability to make change and complete reports accurately
- ability to stand for long periods
- able to stock shelves and perform cleaning tasks
- willingness to follow company policies
- ability to work flexible shifts
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education
- no prior experience necessary
- computer skills general
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to perform basic math calculations
- ability to operate cash register for extended periods
- good customer service skills
- ability to work under pressure
- ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Job Duties
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure accuracy
- establish or identify prices of goods and services using cash registers
- stock shelves and hang tags
- monitor checkout stations to ensure adequate cash and staffing
- accurately record markups, markdowns, spoilage and store use of merchandise
- advise Store Manager and Assistant Manager of personnel situations or policy violations
- follow company policy by maintaining a low cash drawer and using the safe as instructed
- complete shift-checkout reports as directed
- follow correct vendor check-in procedures
- perform cleaning duties such as cleaning front windows and around check stands
