Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • Understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • Perform front-end merchandising duties such as maintaining newspapers, periodicals, and candy displays
  • Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs
  • Report pricing or signage errors
  • Maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
  • Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • Comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
  • Maintain clean and well-stocked department complying with safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with stocking items as needed
  • Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
  • Follow food safety and cleaning expectations
  • Adhere to guest experience guidelines
  • May perform tasks in other departments based on needs
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
