Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- Understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
- Perform front-end merchandising duties such as maintaining newspapers, periodicals, and candy displays
- Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs
- Report pricing or signage errors
- Maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
- Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- Comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
- Maintain clean and well-stocked department complying with safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with stocking items as needed
- Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- Follow food safety and cleaning expectations
- Adhere to guest experience guidelines
- May perform tasks in other departments based on needs
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
