Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- able to stand for long periods
- able to carry up to 40 pounds
- capable of frequent arm and hand motions for ringing up and bagging groceries
- able to push and pull shopping carts
- able to use proper safety procedures
- good communication and observation skills
- able to listen and follow directions independently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience working with the public
- basic mathematical knowledge
- cash handling experience preferred
- working knowledge of produce codes required
- ability to differentiate between produce products
- strong communication skills

- good observation skills
Job Duties
- Greets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact by name if possible during transactions
- assists customers while ringing up/weighing items for purchase
- bags groceries together using the least number of bags
- checks for bottom of the basket
- verify/balance register till at beginning and end of shift
- accept/verify/process payment in cash, credit, debit, EBT, and check
- verify/process WIC checks, purchase orders, merchandise certificates and coupons
- check identification for tobacco and liquor purchases as well as credit card and check payments following company procedures
- maintain register accuracy and follow proper register procedures
- refill bag wells, keep workstation clean and organized
- perform courtesy clerk duties
- perform other related duties as assigned by manager
