Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of state and local laws regarding alcohol sales
- Understand and follow federal WIC handling laws
- Familiarity with coupon handling procedures
- Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Reliable and punctual
Job Qualifications
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred
- Basic math skills
- Ability to operate a cash register and handle multiple payment types
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times
- Never sign off the register with a customer waiting
- Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy
- Make sure items are credited to the correct department
- Receive and be accountable for all funds taken for each transaction
- Assist the courtesy clerk in bagging groceries
- Keep work station and area around work station neat and clean
