Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons according to company policy
- Understand and adhere to company’s limits on cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with present, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions or accidents to notify management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Provide a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high paced environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
