Job Requirements
- High school education or GED preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Experience with cash registers or computers preferred
- Basic math skills
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Ability to work closely with others
- Adherence to established work and safety procedures
- Ability to pass the Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service Training certification
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to operate cash register and 10 keypad
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to comprehend and retain directions
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Maintain composure under all circumstances

Job Duties
- Greet customers, smile and make eye contact
- Maintain a friendly, courteous and helpful demeanor
- Communicate with customers to determine bagging preferences and bag purchases neatly following protocol
- Provide carryout assistance as needed
- Communicate with all front end staff and coworkers professionally
- Ensure safe and legal alcohol sales by checking IDs and following protocol
- Attend safe selling training and pass written exam
- Complete designated opening and closing duties
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace and reduce front end congestion
- Collect carts and baskets and return them to designated areas
- Stock supplies such as boxes and bags
- Assist with curbside program including shopping and customer payments
- Clean up spills as needed
- Alert manager of equipment breakdowns or safety hazards
- Check out customer purchases quickly and accurately
- Notify manager of pricing errors
- Maintain accuracy standards minimizing overages/shortages
- Follow protocols for register operation and cash handling
- Create deposits and balance cash drawer
- Handle credit card and cash payments securely
- Process customer returns with proper documentation
- Apply coupons, rainchecks, and discounts per policy
- Report policy misuse or abuse
- Report employee theft or 'sweethearting'
- Alert management to shoplifters or emergencies
- Attend front end department meetings
- Perform other tasks assigned by managers
