Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physical activities including standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking, and kneeling frequently
- Must be 18 years or older to safely handle and operate equipment such as case cutters, utility knives, forklift (with certification), pallet jack, compact baler, slicer, oven, fryer, knives, and mixers
- Must comply with safety regulations and not be under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during work
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours
- Willingness to adhere to company policies on safety and customer service
- Must pass drug test, motor vehicle report, and/or reference check if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Basic mathematical ability
- Ability to read and write English
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred
- Familiarity with Point of Sale systems beneficial
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong attention to detail

Job Duties
- Consistently demonstrate the Woods Supermarket D&E service and Hospitality 4 guidelines
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company standards
- Notify management of guest or teammate accidents or injuries
- Report all safety risks and illegal activity including robbery, theft, or fraud
- Be respectful, courteous, and helpful to other teammates
- Stay current with all advertisements
- Understand the store's layout and assist guests in finding products
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
- Process guest transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages
- Understand guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol or tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Pricing Coordinator
- Follow established policies for gift cards and coupons
- Bag guest purchases quickly and carefully
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace by sweeping, dusting, and cleaning registers and scales
- Understand operation and safety requirements of electronic cash registers, scanners, scales, and intercom systems
- Monitor front-end service and request additional help when necessary
