Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
previous cashier or retail experience preferred
ability to stand for long periods
ability to perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds
basic computer and point of sale system proficiency
strong customer service orientation
ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
compliance with safety and legal standards
ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
must be 18 years or older

Job Duties

Consistently demonstrate the Woods Supermarket D>E service and Hospitality 4 guidelines
adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company standards
notify management of guest or teammate accidents or injuries
report all safety risks and illegal activity including robbery, theft or fraud
be respectful, courteous, and helpful to other teammates
stay current with all ads
understand the store's layout and assist guests in locating products
perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
perform other miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers
process guest transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures
adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages and work to control loss
understand and comply with guidelines on restricted sale items
report pricing discrepancies
follow established policies for gift cards and coupons
bag purchases carefully ensuring no damage
maintain a clean and safe workspace including sweeping floors and cleaning registers
understand the operation and safety requirements of register, scanner, scale and intercom systems
monitor front-end service and call for additional help or open lanes as needed
