Job Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends and holidays
- ability to perform friendly, courteous and tactful relations with customers and co-workers
- ability to communicate effectively through hearing and speech
- ability to complete written forms
- ability to conduct visual inspections and read merchandise information
- ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- ability to operate cash registers, scanners and scales
- ability to stand or sit for long periods, walk rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
- ability to memorize a considerable amount of information including PLU codes, product locations, company policies
- ability to ensure accuracy in sales and monetary transactions with mental alertness and basic math skills
- ability to occasionally use blades for box cutting
- ability to use household cleaners for work area maintenance
- ability to navigate and manage high stress situations and unsatisfied customers
- compliance with state and local laws including food safety/handlers cards and tobacco and alcohol sales certification as required
- willingness to perform primary duties efficiently and accurately
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience in retail or customer service roles preferred
- ability to operate cash register and scanning equipment
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply and divide
- manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
- ability to memorize product codes and company policies
- ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- familiarity with cash handling policies and procedures

Job Duties
- Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
- maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service
- operate check stand equipment such as cash register, scanner and scale
- engage in suggestive selling and sales techniques
- process monetary transactions including cash, checks, gift certificates, food stamps, coupons and refunds
- maintain knowledge of product location and proper pricing
- ensure clean, neat and properly stocked check stand and safe work area
- stock, price and rotate merchandise
- assist at multi-station self-checkout lanes as needed
- assist at customer service counter as needed
- follow all state and federal laws concerning sale of restricted items
- adhere to USDA food stamp or WIC voucher procedures
- monitor and expedite transactions at self-checkout stations
- respond to alerts and errors in SCO lanes
- assist customers at self-checkout kiosks to ensure accuracy and limit shrinkage
- prioritize safety by addressing or reporting concerns
- perform other duties as assigned or needed
