Job Requirements
- experience in bookkeeping, business, industry, retail sales, or banking
- ability to review and interpret contracts
- ability to use computers and various computer software programs including spreadsheets, word processing and communication packages
- knowledge of state regulations for revenue collection of state and local funds
- experience in cashiering functions including handling large sums of money
- knowledge of effective customer service, critical thinking, problem solving, and proof-reading methods
- skills in office procedures as well as oral and written communication
- ability to handle a variety of diverse duties in a customer service environment
- ability to organize work and make independent decisions within college guidelines
- ability to maintain effective working relationships with office staff, students, faculty, and general public

Job Duties
- assist students and the general public by answering inquiries related to fiscal policies and the operation of the business office
- enter all forms of payments in the PeopleSoft/SIS system
- verify and attach third party tuition payment authorizations to contracts
- prepare daily deposit and associated documentation
- process and maintain student and library accounts in the college accounts receivable database
- work effectively with Portsmouth campus academic division and student services offices, Payroll, AIS, Facilities Management, Material Management and other internal offices
