Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- good verbal communication skills
- ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- good customer service and organizational skills
- detail-oriented
- basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- able to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- able to work in varied temperatures and typical retail store environment
- willingness to follow PPE and food safety guidelines
- availability to perform tasks across departments as needed

Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- handle a variety of products including dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef and pork products
- process financial transactions accurately including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, belts
- perform front-end merchandising duties including stocking newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs
- report pricing or signage errors
- maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and restricted items
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department
- assist with stocking as needed
- follow PPE and safety guidelines
- adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
- uphold guest experience guidelines
- perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
- complete additional responsibilities as assigned
