Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
- Ability to complete written forms and perform visual inspections
- Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to operate check stand equipment such as cash registers, scanners, and scales
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, twisting and turning
- Ability to learn and memorize considerable information including PLU codes and company policies
- Accuracy in scanning, verifying sales, and handling monetary transactions with basic math skills
- Occasional use of blades for box cutting
- Use of household cleaners to maintain cleanliness
- Ability to navigate and manage potentially high-stress and high-volume customer situations
- As required, hold food safety/handlers cards and certifications for tobacco and alcohol sales such as TAM card

- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and manage multiple customer interactions effectively
Job Duties
- Welcome, engage, serve and thank customers maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere
- Operate check stand equipment including cash registers, scanners, and scales to process customer transactions
- Engage in suggestive selling and participate in sales techniques
- Process monetary transactions including cash, checks, gift certificates, food stamps, coupons, and refunds adhering to cash handling policies
- Maintain knowledge of product locations, monitor UPC codes, and ensure pricing accuracy
- Keep check stands clean, neat, stocked, and maintain safe work areas
- Stock, price, and rotate merchandise as assigned
- Attend to self-checkout lanes by monitoring multiple transactions, clearing errors, and assisting customers
- Provide customer service at counters as needed
- Follow all laws related to restricted or regulated items such as tobacco and alcohol
- Adhere to USDA Food Stamp and WIC voucher procedures
- Maintain high awareness of self-checkout areas, ensuring safety and addressing concerns promptly
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
