Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- No prior work experience required
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Basic proficiency with electronic cash registers and barcode scanners
- Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Good vision including close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Availability to work flexible shifts totaling 20 to 40 hours per week
- Capability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

Job Duties
- Scan and tender customer orders quickly while engaging in conversation
- Use electronic scanners, cash registers, or related equipment to process transactions
- Process credit, debit, or SNAP benefits card transactions and validate checks
- Page another associate to assist checkout when lines exceed three customers or transactions are large
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits
- Answer customers' questions and provide information on procedures or policies
- Help customers find product locations
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers
- Greet customers entering establishments
- Supervise others and provide on-the-job training
- Assist customers by providing information and resolving complaints
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and perform general cleaning duties
- Establish or identify prices of goods or services and tabulate bills
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Bag, box, wrap, or gift-wrap merchandise and prepare packages for shipment
- Assist with duties in other store areas such as monitoring fitting rooms or carrying out items
- Stock shelves, sort and reshelve returned items, and mark prices
- Offer carry-out service after transactions
- Count money in cash drawers at shift start
- Provide assistance to the team wherever needed
- Perform tasks involving public interaction, identifying objects and events, communicating with supervisors and peers, teaching others, and processing information
- Update and use relevant knowledge for job performance
- Exercise good judgment in service quality
- Engage in multitasking in a fast-paced retail environment
