- prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk preferred
Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, off-line SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers
- adhere to company policies and limit on cash shortages and overages
- enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to scan coordinator
- follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with present and future advertisements and promotions
- adhere to food safety regulations and company safety procedures
- identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate personnel
- create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers
- comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
