- One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required

Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- Handle financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
- Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- Maintain merchandising of check-stand items such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- Ensure proper use of product identification and report pricing or signage errors
- Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- Comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, sale of age-restricted products
- Maintain cleanliness and stock in the department
- Assist with stocking items as necessary
- Follow PPE and safety guidelines
- Adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
- Follow guest experience guidelines
- Perform assigned tasks in other departments as needed
