Job Requirements

  • Ability to properly charge the correct price for food and drink items ordered in an effective, professional manner
  • Ability to operate a POS
  • Ability to operate credit card equipment
  • Ability to interact with guests effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Maintain composure in urgent and pressure situations
  • Ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe during work hours
  • Awareness of hazards such as cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns
  • Must be of legal age according to state regulations to serve alcohol
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to follow company job safety policies, including safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lbs or less

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Prior experience in cashier or food service positions
  • Valid ServSafe or other approved Food Handler certification
  • High level of integrity and honesty
  • Proficient reading and writing skills
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures as directed
  • Ability to be aware of and follow company policies and procedures related to job safety

Job Duties

  • Greet guests, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered by guests, receive the correct amount tendered by guests and provide the correct change for each transaction
  • Be able to enact gift cards requested by guests
  • Be very familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner
  • Ability to make corrections to guest orders in a fast and efficient manner
  • Ability to determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money
  • Assure age requirements are verified prior to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform
  • Keeps work area neat and clean at all times
  • Cleans and maintains equipment used
  • Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
