- Familiarity with cash handling and Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
- Ability to maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively at checkout
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, and coupons
- Monitor and control cash shortages and overages honestly
- Enforce company policies on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies and assist with checkout procedures
- Comply with food safety regulations and store safety protocols
- Inspect and report equipment maintenance needs
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere by assisting customers with product questions
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflict calmly and professionally
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Support interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
