  • Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system

Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the POS system
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, restricted sale items, and checkout procedures
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
  • Inspect equipment and report repair needs
  • Answer customer questions about products and store departments
  • Follow local, state, and federal laws and company policies
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
