Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, overages, and loss prevention
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay updated with current and seasonal ads
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Reinforce safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, stressful environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
