Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions swiftly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Understand and follow restrictions on sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with all ads including seasonal and special offers
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and promptly report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Provide excellent customer service by answering product questions
- Follow all applicable laws and company policies
- Work cooperatively in fast-paced and stressful situations
- Manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
- Seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
