Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately and according to company policy
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • perform front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand items like newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs and report pricing or signage errors
  • maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers demonstrating high standards of service
  • comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of regulated products
  • maintain a clean, well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation standards
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines
  • adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
  • follow guest experience guidelines
  • possibly perform duties in other departments based on customer service needs
  • fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned
