Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons per company policy
- Control loss by adhering to company's cash shortage and overage limits
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Adhere to established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay informed on current, seasonal, and special ads
- Comply with food safety regulations and company safety procedures
- Notify management of unsafe conditions or equipment issues
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
