Job Duties
- Greets customers within ten feet and four seconds of contact by name if possible
- Assists customers while ringing up and weighing items for purchase
- Bags groceries efficiently using the least number of bags
- Checks for items at the bottom of the basket
- Verifies and balances register till at the beginning and end of shifts
- Accepts, verifies, and processes payments in various forms including cash, credit, debit, EBT, and checks
- Verifies and processes WIC checks, purchase orders, merchandise certificates, and coupons
- Checks identification for restricted purchases and follows company procedures for credit card and check payments
- Ensures register accuracy and proper procedure compliance
- Refills bag wells and maintains cleanliness and organization of the workstation
- Performs duties of a courtesy clerk
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager
