Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Operate POS system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and others according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages and work to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items and report pricing discrepancies
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or issues to management
- Inspect equipment and report items needing repair
- Create welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in high paced or stressful environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
