Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Operate POS system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and others according to company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages and work to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items and report pricing discrepancies
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or issues to management
  • Inspect equipment and report items needing repair
  • Create welcoming environment by answering customer questions
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in high paced or stressful environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
