Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
previous experience in customer service or cashier role preferred
ability to communicate clearly and courteously
attention to detail and accuracy
capacity to stand for extended periods
punctuality and reliability
ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
proactively offer additional assistance and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments when on register
properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
manage traffic flow in self-checkout area, direct customers to available lanes, ensure lanes are in good working order and assist customers with system troubleshooting
maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace
