Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently
- good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, twisting, and turning
- communicate clearly with customers
- ability to complete written forms
- must learn and memorize extensive product and price information
- handle monetary transactions accurately
- use approved cleaning products
- follow company policies and state laws
- ability to manage high volume in fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior customer service experience an asset
- ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- basic math skills for handling transactions
- capacity to stand for extended periods
- ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- familiarity with cash handling policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Welcome and engage customers with friendly and courteous service
- operate check stand equipment including cash registers, scanners, and scales
- process monetary transactions including cash, checks, coupons, and food stamps
- maintain knowledge of product locations, pricing, and UPC codes
- keep check stand clean, stocked, and organized
- assist customers at self-checkout lanes and respond to transaction errors
- adhere to all laws regarding restricted item sales and USDA guidelines
