Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment and its efficient operation
- perform front-end merchandising such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and report pricing or signage errors
- maintain knowledge of store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with security, cash handling, product handling, and company policies
- maintain clean and well-stocked department
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning guidelines
- follow guest experience guidelines
- perform other tasks in various departments as assigned
- additional responsibilities as needed
