Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers actively and in a visible manner
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and WIC
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sale items and loss prevention
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay updated on current, seasonal and special advertisements
- Maintain food safety regulations and guidelines
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents or issues to management
- Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify management of needed repairs
- Create a welcoming environment answering product-related questions
- Comply with all local, state and federal laws as well as company guidelines
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
