Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company cash shortage and overage limits and work to control loss honestly and effectively
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Create a welcoming and appreciated environment for customers by answering product questions
- Comply with local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
