Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good customer service and organizational skills
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
  • Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Willingness to follow safety, food safety, and PPE guidelines
  • Commitment to company policies and guest experience standards

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, and coupons accurately
  • Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • Maintain front-end merchandising such as newspapers and candy displays
  • Ensure proper use of product identification and report pricing errors
  • Communicate company programs, specials, and promotions to customers
  • Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, and product sales
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock levels at the check-stand
  • Assist with stocking items as needed
  • Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines
  • Follow food safety and cleaning expectations
  • Follow guest experience guidelines
  • Support other departments based on customer experience needs
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
