Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction

Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various forms of payment such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Comply with food safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment and notify management of unsafe conditions or repair needs
  • Provide an inviting atmosphere where customers feel welcome and appreciated
  • Manage conflict professionally and cooperate in high-paced environments
