Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous cashier experience preferred for head cashier role
- ability to stand for extended periods
- reliable and punctual
- strong numerical and cash handling skills
- ability to follow company policies and procedures
- good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- minimum of 1 year cashier experience preferred for Head Cashier
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- strong attention to detail
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- experience in supervising or coaching an advantage
- knowledge of retail point of sale systems
- ability to learn product and project information quickly
Job Duties
- process checkout and return transactions quickly and accurately
- monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation
- proactively acquire product and project knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities
- follow all company policies and procedures to minimize shrink
- position cashiers and expedite price checks in a Head Cashier capacity
- approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for registers and other service areas
- provide first-level escalation and resolution for customer issues
- assist in supervising, coaching, and training other Front End Associates
- participate in training new cashiers and utilizing available coaching tools for development
