Job Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, including weekends
ability to provide friendly and efficient customer service
basic proficiency with computerized checkout systems
physical ability to stand and handle bags throughout shift
willingness to maintain cleanliness and organization of workspace
part-time availability

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
previous cashier or customer service experience is an advantage
strong communication and interpersonal skills
basic math skills
ability to operate a cash register and handle payments
customer-oriented mindset
ability to work flexible hours including weekends
ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties

Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
proactively offer additional assistance
thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments when on register
properly bag items to ensure products arrive in good condition
manage traffic flow in self-checkout area
direct customers to available lanes
ensure self-checkout lanes are in good working order
assist customers with system troubleshooting
maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace
