Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • Understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • Perform front-end duties such as merchandising newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • Ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs and report pricing or signage errors
  • Maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
  • Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and the sale of alcohol and tobacco
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with stocking items as needed
  • Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
  • Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
  • Follow guest experience guidelines
  • Perform additional assigned tasks and assist in other departments based on customer experience needs
