Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Basic math skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying weight up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate equipment such as case cutter, utility knife, pallet jack with or without certification
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate certain equipment
  • Ability to comply with all safety protocols and legal regulations
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including part-time or full-time availability

Job Duties

  • Consistently demonstrate Woods Supermarket D&E service and Hospitality 4 guidelines
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company standards
  • Notify management of guest or teammate accidents or injuries
  • Report all safety risks and illegal activity including robbery, theft or fraud
  • Be respectful, courteous, and helpful to teammates
  • Stay current with all store ads
  • Understand the store layout and assist guests in locating products
  • Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks assigned by management
  • Process guest transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Use the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons according to company policy
  • Adhere to cash shortage and overage limits and work to control loss
  • Understand guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol or tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Pricing Coordinator
  • Follow policies and procedures for gift cards and coupons
  • Bag guest purchases carefully ensuring no damage
  • Maintain clean and safe work area by sweeping, dusting, and cleaning registers and scales
  • Understand operation and safety requirements of registers, scanners, scales, and intercom
  • Monitor front-end service and call for additional help as needed
