Job Requirements
- Ability to work standing, walking, bending, and lifting 25 plus pounds continuously throughout the day
- Capacity to operate in sales floor environments both indoor and outdoor as well as office environments
- Strong attention to safety and adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Willingness to embrace company culture and teamwork
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and experience with computer software including Excel, Word, and POS systems
- Excellent math and reading skills
- Ability to analyze situations, identify problems, and implement solutions
- Flexibility and adaptability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and overtime during peak seasons
Job Duties

- Provide and maintain an outstanding customer experience at Al's Garden and Home retail location
- Focus on providing exceptional customer service at checkout by expediting front lines and ensuring a friendly environment
- Perform POS system functions including troubleshooting technical issues and solving customer transaction discrepancies
- Maintain accurate cash balancing of the register tills
- Understand customer loyalty programs such as Al's Color Dollar program, track and enter rewards points, look up receipts, and troubleshoot problems
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, retail floor space, and back office space
- Follow safety policies and procedures to embrace a safety culture of injury and accident prevention
- Achieve daily goals as communicated by store management
- Assist with all other related tasks or duties within the garden center as assigned by store management
- Adhere to all company guidelines, policies, and procedures
