Sunny Glen Children’s Home is a reputable social services organization located in Brownsville, TX, committed to providing compassionate care and support to unaccompanied children and youth through various programs designed to promote their welfare and reunification with family or sponsors. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be 21 years of age or older
  • bilingual in English and Spanish
  • knowledge of ORR policies and procedures
  • experience in social services or related field
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to use program software
  • strong organizational skills
  • adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards

  • experience with case file management
  • effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to work with youth and family members
  • proficiency in program software ETO and UC Portal

  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Maintain and archive physical or electronic active/discharged files in accordance with agency and ORR policies and procedures, meeting licensing standards
  • meet with children on a weekly basis to provide telephonic communication with the family of origin, primary caregiver, and/or sponsor
  • assist with discharge and transfer planning and paperwork as needed
  • complete closing of files on the child is released from the program
  • conduct ProBAR coordination with Know Your Rights presentations and legal screenings
  • assist with meeting clients as needed based on client request submissions
  • filing paperwork and assistance on behalf of other departments
