Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience mixing and serving beverages in a luxury resort or high volume restaurant
- Knowledge of popular cocktails and wines required
- Basic computer knowledge (Micros or other POS Systems)
- Must be of minimum legal age to serve alcohol according to state law
- TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certificate required
- Ability to communicate in the English language
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be physically fit in order to move, lift, carry, pull, push and place items up to 50 pounds
- Requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years' experience mixing and serving beverages in a luxury resort or high volume restaurant
- Knowledge of popular cocktails and wines required
- Basic computer knowledge (Micros or other POS Systems)
- TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certificate required
- Outstanding guest services and communication skills
- Professional presentation and neat appearance
- Excellent eye for detail
- Effective listening and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends
- Knowledge of basic food handling policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate in English
- Second language is a plus
Job Duties
- Greet each guest promptly in a sincerely warm, friendly manner using the guest's name
- Present menu, answer questions, make suggestions regarding beverage and food
- Know the ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all beverage items and specials to ensure that every product delivered to the guest adheres to the highest quality possible
- Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems
- Remain observant and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each beverage and/or food course
- Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks
- Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies
- Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait and product availability
- Know layout of restaurant/hotel and location of all equipment and supplies
- Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas
- Setup and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, and other tools
- Assist as needed to maintain standards of appearance, sanitation and service in all areas of the restaurant
- Key in (pre check) orders on the Micros terminal promptly and accurately
- Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment
- Ensure compliance with all state alcohol requirements
- Follow guidelines as outlined in Turnberry Isle Employee Handbook
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management
