Job Requirements

  • Diploma or some college education or equivalent work experience
  • valid Food Handler’s Certificate
  • minimum three years experience as a Line Cook
  • ability to work 8 to 12 hour shifts
  • physical ability to transport 20 pounds and endure kitchen conditions
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • knowledge of state sanitation and health regulations
  • ability to follow recipes and handle kitchen equipment safely
  • maintain confidentiality of guest and company information

Job Qualifications

  • Diploma/Some College or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • must have current and valid Food Handler’s Certificate
  • minimum three years experience as a Line Cook
  • hotel operational exposure preferred
  • experience with luxury or ultra-luxury properties preferred
  • ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
  • ability to work under pressure and meet production schedules
  • ability to use all senses to ensure quality standards
  • ability to comprehend and follow recipes
  • ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • fluency in English, other languages preferred

Job Duties

  • Monitor maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
  • ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis
  • maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements
  • maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • meet with Senior Chef de Cuisine, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef to review assignments and business needs
  • complete opening duties including setting up workstations and inspecting tools and equipment
  • prepare and produce sauté, grill, and sauce menu items for designated F&B outlets
  • prepare all dishes following recipes and plating standards
  • maintain proper storage procedures and minimize waste
  • disinfect and sanitize work areas
  • assist stewards to enhance cleanup efficiency
  • perform closing duties including proper storage of food and cleaning of stations
  • exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner with guests and employees
  • perform all other duties as required
