Job Requirements
- Must hold USCG Merchant Mariner Credential with international and national endorsements
- Must maintain current USCG/STCW medical certificate renewed every two years
- Must have a valid TWIC card and Passport
- High school diploma
- Articulated Tug/Barge experience preferred
- Caustic Soda experience preferred
- Able to work in confined spaces, carry heavy tools, climb and descend ladders, and lift at least 40 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Hold USCG Merchant Mariner Credential with international and national endorsements, Possess International STCW endorsements including Officer in Charge of a Navigation Watch, Able Seafarer-Deck, RFPNW, STCW Basic Safety Training, PSC, Vessel Security Officer, Medical First Aid Provider, and Automatic Radar Plotting Aid, Have USCG National Endorsements including 500 GRT Oceans or 1,600 GRT Oceans or higher, Mate Pilot of Towing Oceans, Lifeboatman, Deck Officer - Radar Observer, and FCC License, Hold Tankerman PIC Barge limited to Dangerous Liquid (DL) Cargoes endorsement, Maintain current USCG/STCW medical certificate renewed every two years, Have a valid TWIC card and Passport
Job Duties
- Perform inspection, testing and maintenance of deck and cargo machinery and systems, Perform Bridge Standing Orders, logbook maintenance and emergency checklist duties, Conduct emergency drills and exercises, Inspect emergency equipment and provide emergency instructions, Oversee work-rest schedules and documentation, Manage crew sign-on, onboard familiarization and crew changes, Assign tasks to mates and able-bodied seamen as required
