Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold at least 70 lbs
  • Physical exam may be required
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must pass pre-employment background check
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
  • Must be able to verbally communicate in English
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess required INS authorization

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Computer and typing experience
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to treat all information as confidential
  • Tactful communication with customers and staff
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Familiarity with FAA, airline, and company regulations
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Act as handling agent for airlines
  • Inform authorized parties about movements of airline's aircraft and cargo
  • Compile, dispatch, and receive messages related to cargo handling operations
  • Prepare and process cargo documents, air bills, and air way bills
  • Answer airline's telephone and take appropriate action
  • Obtain customer's clearance of inbound cargo and process related government documents
  • Prepare transfer manifests for all transfer cargo
  • Conduct physical inspections and screening of packages per client protocols
  • Prepare Unit Load Device Receipt and distribute copies per airline instructions
  • Service customers at counter by ensuring accurate shipping documents and processing payments
  • Notify customers of shipment arrival and inform about freight and storage charges
  • Complete airway bills, data entry, and update computer records
  • Ensure familiarity with FAA, airline, and company regulations
  • Keep supervisor informed of needs, maintain cleanliness, and report maintenance
  • Project a positive image and respond courteously to inquiries
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required
  • Utilize communications channels and maintain records, reports, and files
  • Adhere to uniform policy and company identification badges
  • Follow company policies and participate in achieving objectives
  • Use company and client equipment conscientiously and perform other duties as requested
