Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver's license
  • ability to understand, retain and deliver information verbally and in writing
  • energetic and self-motivated
  • ability to work independently and in a timely manner
  • complete Request for Computer Access form from USPS
  • ability to work in extreme weather conditions

  • prior experience in warehouse or cargo handling preferred

  • knowledge of or interest in technology used for training purposes
  • ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Job Duties

  • Induct bypass, non-priority and priority mail into the transportation system including stacking, shrink-wrapping, bagging and proper storage
  • operate company equipment in warehouse and post office including forklifts, box trucks and pallet jacks
  • conduct daily inspections of forklifts, box trucks and chip containers
  • maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment including emptying trash cans, cleaning box trucks and warehouse
  • organize and consolidate freight and mail in preparation for loading
  • stage freight and mail for flights
  • assist with ground power unit connections and start-up on aircraft
  • complete aircraft preparation duties prior to loading flights
  • safely and efficiently load aircraft using forklifts, belt loaders, bob-tail trucks, chain carts, dollies and scissor lift trucks
  • use support tools such as pipe rollers, vehicle dollies, pallet jacks, toothpicks and pry bars during loading and unloading
  • perform safety-related functions such as securing cargo loads with straps and nets and securing cargo doors
  • assist with connecting aircraft power units, placement of wheel chocks and air stairs
  • occasionally fly on aircraft to final destination to assist loading and unloading
  • transfer mail to post office or other air carriers as directed
  • maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment including outdoor trash removal, ramp area cleaning, equipment maintenance and post-load clean-up of foreign object debris from ramp and aircraft areas
