Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • three years of recent experience in housekeeping, custodial services, property care, or facility maintenance
  • knowledge of proper cleaning and preservation techniques for delicate and historic materials
  • basic handyman/maintenance skills and ability to perform light repairs
  • experience working in a school setting preferred
  • proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and operational systems such as rSchool Today Suite or similar
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support events
  • comfort working around animals and ability to provide pet care
  • discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness when working in private spaces
  • service-oriented approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Perform daily housekeeping duties
  • provide or coordinate deeper cleaning services on a scheduled basis
  • conduct regular property inspections to identify and address maintenance or pest control needs proactively
  • maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all spaces
  • perform light repairs such as tightening plumbing fixtures, lamp replacement, minor painting, and adjusting cabinetry/door adjustments
  • ensure the home and pavilion are properly secured
  • support preservation efforts by following best practices for maintaining historic architecture and materials
  • must be comfortable with household pets and help ensure their safety indoors
  • may occasionally assist with cleanup as needed
  • assist the Office of the President, event staff, and vendors with planning, setup, and breakdown of events held at the Home and Pavilion
  • maintain accurate inventory of event-related supplies, including kitchen, dining, entertainment, and decorative items
  • assist with decorating for events and seasonal occasions
  • provide onsite support during select events and ensure all spaces are restored to pristine condition following each event
  • complete and submit work order forms, requisitions, and other required documentation to the appropriate school departments as well as monitor and follow up to ensure timely completion of requested services
