Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in caregiving or related field preferred
  • must have CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance if driving for business
  • pass random drug testing
  • commitment to professional and ethical responsibilities
  • availability to work night shift hours
  • ability to stand and walk extensively
  • ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally
  • compliance with YoloCares’ policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to perform effectively under stress
  • ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
  • compliance with mandated reporting policies
  • commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • able to meet background screening requirements
  • familiarity with hospice aide core values and standards
  • experience working night shifts is preferred
  • experience with adults, elderly, or homeless populations is preferred
  • bilingual skills are a plus
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and Word
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Assists with personal care including bathing, oral hygiene, and toileting
  • provides homemaker services such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
  • changes residents' clothing and bed linens as needed
  • supports resident comfort through rehabilitation techniques like positioning and ambulating
  • performs routine procedures including feeding non-compromised residents and cleaning equipment
  • demonstrates and teaches care techniques to volunteers and interns
  • records vital signs and monitors physical and emotional conditions
  • follows infection control precautions
  • assists residents with medication as directed
  • encourages bowel and bladder regularity
  • observes and reports changes in residents' conditions
  • documents all resident care in compliance with regulations
  • participates in team meetings and training sessions
  • performs other duties as assigned
