Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in personal care and homemaker duties
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods
  • Valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance if driving on business
  • Compliance with mandated reporting policies and background screening
  • Pass random drug testing
  • Ability to handle stress and critical situations
  • Commitment to professional boundaries and ethical responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working a night or graveyard shift
  • Experience caring for adults, the elderly, or people experiencing homelessness
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook and Word
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA
  • Familiarity with hospice aide core values and standards

Job Duties

  • Assist with or provide personal care such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and toileting as directed by care plans
  • Provide homemaker services including cleaning rooms, laundry, meal preparation, and assistance
  • Change residents' clothing and bed linens as requested
  • Increase residents' comfort and safety through rehabilitative measures such as positioning, ambulating, and using adaptive equipment
  • Perform routine procedures including feeding non-compromised residents, making beds, and cleaning equipment
  • Demonstrate and teach care techniques to volunteers and interns
  • Record vital signs and observe residents' conditions, reporting changes to management and clinical staff
