Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR and First Aid certification as required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred
- Desire to serve and care for seniors
- Ability to make decisions and act in residents’ best interest
- Completion of drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check
- Compliance with vaccination requirements if mandated
- Ability to understand and follow health and safety procedures
- As applicable, ability to drive a Sunrise vehicle and sign Driver job description
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR certificate and First Aid certification as required by regulations
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred
- Ability to make decisions in the best interest of residents
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Competent organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to remain calm and handle multiple priorities
- Commitment to principles of service and resident rights
Job Duties
- Review daily log to document and learn resident information
- Participate in development and monthly updates of Individualized Service Plans
- Be responsible for designated residents during shifts and monitor their condition
- Observe, report, and document changes in residents' symptoms and conditions
- Attend daily cross-over meetings with lead care managers
- Notify supervisors and resident care directors of increased care needs or changes in resident conditions
- Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells and take appropriate action
- Greet and assist guests, family members, residents, and team members
- Assist with continence management and ensure proper sanitation
- Communicate with families and act as a resource
- Help residents maintain independence, safety, and dignity
- Lead and assist residents with activities of daily living and encourage participation in activities
- Engage residents in life skills and enrichment activities especially in reminiscence neighborhoods
- Maintain a warm, positive, and calm environment for residents
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard care precautions
- Participate in risk management by adhering to occupational health and safety policies
- Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and practice safety procedures including PPE and biohazard disposal
- Maintain and clean assigned resident rooms and common areas
- Conduct laundry and housekeeping duties as assigned
- Serve meals and promote pleasant dining experiences following residents’ diet plans
- Provide room service delivery and practice safe food handling
- Incorporate 'Creating Pleasant Days' concept for reminiscence neighborhood residents
- Participate in team meetings, training, and comply with infection control measures
- Perform other duties as assigned
