Job Requirements

High school diploma
minimum five years cooking or baking experience
meet credentialing requirements for Indian River State College/Florida Department of Education
possess culinary or Servsafe certifications
proficient computer skills including in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Job Qualifications

associate degree or higher in a related field preferred
minimum five years cooking or baking experience
meet credentialing requirements for Indian River State College/Florida Department of Education
possess culinary or Servsafe certifications
demonstrate ability in food preparation and knowledge of safety and cooking techniques and equipment
proficient computer skills including in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Job Duties

Design and deliver engaging classroom lectures and develop syllabi
prepare and demonstrate effective food preparation techniques and culinary procedures
teach proper methods of food handling, preparation, and presentation in both classroom and lab settings
actively recruit and advise students to support successful enrollment
maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance, and submit grades promptly
ensure a safe, organized, and productive learning environment at all times
promptly report equipment malfunctions or damage to the appropriate personnel
provide ongoing guidance and support to students to foster a positive and enriching educational experience
oversee inventory and manage supplies, equipment, and materials for both the culinary classroom and lab
monitor and maintain lab tools and equipment to prevent loss and damage
completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
