Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum five years cooking or baking experience
  • appropriate credentialing requirements met for Indian River State College and Florida Department of Education
  • possession of Culinary and ServSafe certifications
  • strong knowledge of food preparation, safety, and culinary techniques
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • ability to maintain a safe and organized learning environment
  • must be able to stand and sit for extended periods and occasionally lift items over 20 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • associate degree or higher in a related field preferred
  • minimum five years cooking or baking experience
  • meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for Indian River State College and Florida Department of Education verified training or classroom experience
  • possess Culinary and ServSafe certifications
  • demonstrate ability in food preparation and knowledge of safety and cooking techniques and equipment
  • proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Job Duties

  • Design and deliver engaging classroom lectures and develop syllabi
  • prepare and demonstrate effective food preparation techniques and culinary procedures
  • teach proper methods of food handling, preparation, and presentation in both classroom and lab settings
  • actively recruit and advise students to support successful enrollment
  • maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance, and submit grades promptly
  • ensure a safe, organized, and productive learning environment at all times
  • promptly report equipment malfunctions or damage to the appropriate personnel
  • provide ongoing guidance and support to students to foster a positive and enriching educational experience
  • oversee inventory and manage supplies, equipment, and materials for both the culinary classroom and lab
  • monitor and maintain lab tools and equipment to prevent loss and damage
  • complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
